Philosophy

The Wayne Hummer Asset Management philosophy is that of a fully invested, comprehensive portfolio. Our focus is on investing in high quality companies, in each economic sector, that offer superior earnings growth, are seeing positive momentum in this growth, and are trading at reasonable valuations. We do not attempt to time the market.

Security selection and deletion is a combination of rigorous fundamental research by our team of analysts, as well as robust multi-factor quantitative screening. Our investment horizon is one to three years when purchasing a new security. This methodology provides ample time to allow the company thesis to play out, but is short enough to remove the emotion from stock selection. Thorough testing and consistent strategies prevent portfolios from holding a security too long should the fundamentals fall outside core purchase parameters. They also allow for movement within the portfolio upon discovery of more attractive companies in a respective industry or sector.
